Welcome to the new home of Music Showcase NI
I`m getting back to my roots here and looking at the local music I grew up with.  This will be mostly local music from the 1960s and 1970s, the music that influenced me and a whole generation.
I will also be looking at the local music scene from the 1960s through to the 1980s and also reference music from further afield that was popular at the time.
Hopefully this will stir some happy memories for those old enough to remember those heady days and maybe introduce some younger readers to the great music of that era.
Each week through the blog we will bring you features on local artists or bands from the past.
In our history section you will find details of the artists we feature in the blog plus some notes on the various venues these guys played at.
